I am going to share three interesting things I came across the past week, every week.

A simple app with two buttons — this is green, this is blue. It randomly shows a colour and you need to guess whether it is blue or green. At the end, you get know how much green is present in what you call blue!

  1. The secret inside one million boxes

Teens wrote secret binary messages in One Million Checkboxes. I found them.

Couple of months ago, this person dropped a website with 1 million checkboxes, that synchronised the state with everyone. So if both of us are on the site, and I click a box, it shows clicked for you too, at the same time.

This article tells stories from running the site. People creating cryptic messages, and even animation with these boxes!

  1. Li Lu — Chinese Warren Buffett

I was listening to an episode of founder’s podcast where I came across Li Lu.

  • Grew up in orphanages and boarding schools because parents were sent away as part of the purges of Chinese Cultural Revolution.

  • One of the leaders of Tiananmen Square student protests, who had to run away from the country to save his life.

  • Manages more than $18.5 billion worth of assets!

After listening to that transition, I tried to find more things about him and found this video. The video is super bad quality, and audio keeps breaking, but the lecture is beautiful, and frankly, eye opening.

In one example, Li talks about how he moved cities to befriend a CEO and his son, and all their church friends to find out the true nature of the said CEO, buying that company’s stock!

Last week I also wrote a post about value creation. This one was a miss. It wasn’t received as well as my other posts.
