I will f*king piledrive you if you mention AI again

Quitting google, AI hysteria, open source cars, and cost of free

Hello hello! What’s up?

This is a letter, a personal letter, from me to you. I hope to send it to you every week. If you find it boring, or want to holler at me, just reply to this.

I am going to share three interesting things I came across the past week, every week.

Let’s get into it.

  1. Why I quit google to work for myself

Long, but fascinating article on how things work at Google if you want to get a promotion. Ends with the person leaving Google, and indie hacking for 6 years.

They were making a revenue of ~1m USD, before selling the business earlier this year.

  1. I will fucking piledrive you if you mention AI again

Came across this article in a primagen video. Goes deep into the current AI hysteria and how people are making wrong decisions, just to accommodate AI in their business, and commenting on the technology’s potential without really understanding it.

  1. My kickstarter failed, so I open sourced it

Recently I’ve gotten back into electronics. I am looking to build a car of my own, which is how I came across this video.

They’ve open sourced the components and design for this racing car, so you can rebuild at home.

Frustrated with a fellow engineer, I wrote a short post on the cost of free things, especially those that require a lot of time. Hopefully it makes you put on your thinking hats as well — Cost of free.

P.S. Hit me up if you’re looking for a team to build full stack web or mobile apps.
